Highlights Of the History

The mandal was established in 1973 with great efforts of our respected elders like late Shri. Prabhulal C. Shah, Shri. Kantilal J. Shah, Shri. Dalichand L. Kothari, Shri. Purushottam G. Kapasi and others. Youngsters like Bipin S. Shah and Rohit R. Parikh helped them to gather 150 members in very first year. Today the mandal consist of more than 450 member families.

The first managing committee was formed by calling a General Body meeting of all members and then onwards the mandal flourished with all social and charity activities like Annual Get-to-Gather of all members, prize distribution to all meritorious students, felicitation of all Tapasvi (austerious members), distribution of note-books at low rates to students, entertainment-activities, Pilgrimage tours, Medical Check-up free camps etc. The mandal was registered as a Charitable Trust during 1991 - 92 to streamline all activities. We are the strongest pillers to support our parent mandal - "Mumbai Sangh".

This report will be incomplete if we do not appreciate the long-consistent and selfless services of our "Chief Mentor" and "Samaj Gaurav" Shri Chandulal Mansukhlal Shah, who is founder member and dedicated worker of not only Shri Zalawad Jain SMP Mandal, Ghatkopar but also of Shri Zalawad Jain SMP Mandal, Mumbai and many other social organizations. The entire community is thankful to him for the overall progress and our recognition.

"Yuvak Mandal" was established in 1997 under inspiration and guidance of our mandal. "Jain Sagpan Mahiti Kendra" (Matrimonial Centre) was established in 2002 to help all Jain families to connect them for match-making, a burning problem today. All these activities have been progressing till date.

We express our gratitude to all committees, each and every member of mandal for their continuous  support and expect to continue the same.
